Lecturer to examine culture of strength

Dr. Simon J. Bronner, Maxwell C. Weiner Distinguished Visiting Professor of Humanities, will present a lecture 3-4 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 6, in St. Pat’s C of the Havener Center. His talk is titled “In Search of the Modern Hercules: The Material Culture of Strength.” A reception will follow the lecture.

Mars viewing at the observatory moves to Feb. 8

Because of cold temperatures predicted midweek, the first Visitors’ Night at the S&T Observatory featuring views of Mars has been rescheduled to 6:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 8. Event staff will be wearing glow bracelets so they can be identified to answer questions.

Death of Dr. Nord Gale

Dr. Nord Gale, the founding chair of the biological sciences department, passed away Friday, Feb. 1. Gale served Missouri S&T 32 years, retiring in 2000. A memorial service will be determined at a later date.
