Celebrate Black History Month
The campus community is invited to celebrate Black History Month at the following events:
- Weekly Black History Month celebrations hosted by the National Society of Black Engineers, noon-1:30 p.m. in the Havener Center Atrium, on Thursday, Feb. 13, Friday, Feb. 21, and Friday, Feb. 28
- Black Man’s Think Tank discussion, “For the Culture” 6 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 13, in the Turner Room of the Havener Center
- Black History Comedy Show and Casino Night, 6-9 p.m. Friday, Feb. 28, in the St. Pat’s Ballroom of the Havener Center

The Missouri Statewide Open Educational Resources Summit will be held 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Wednesday, March 4, at the Missouri State Historical Society, located at 605 Elm St. in Columbia, Missouri.

Career Fair coming up, COER office closed
Missouri S&T’s largest campus recruiting event each semester, the Spring Career Fair, will be held 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 18, in the Gale Bullman Building. The career opportunities and employer relations (COER) office in Room 304 Norwood Hall will be closed this day.

Missouri S&T will conduct a test of its emergency alert system at noon today (Wednesday, Feb. 12). The test will include a text message to students, faculty and staff that reads, “This is a test of the Missouri S&T emergency mass notification system. This is only a test.”

There is a chilled water outage beginning today (Monday, Feb. 10) in the Computer Science Building. The outage does not affect restrooms and does not affect drinking water.
