Passing of Dr. Robert John Bell

Dr. Robert John Bell, age 86, former physics professor at S&T, died May 9 in San Antonio, Texas. He served S&T’s physics department from 1965 until his retirement in 1992.

New COVID-19 guidance for faculty, staff and students

Effective Monday, May 17, all Missouri S&T students, faculty and staff are no longer required to wear a facial covering or physically distance when outdoors. However, for their own safety and the safety and protection of others, all unvaccinated students, faculty and staff are encouraged to continue to wear facial coverings and socially distance while outdoors. (This is a recommendation but not a requirement.)

Current COVID-19 guidance continues for commencement

For this weekend’s commencement ceremonies and for the safety of all participants, Missouri S&T will require all participants to wear facial coverings, maintain social distancing and limit gatherings, as previously announced. In addition, visitors to campus will also be required to follow these guidelines while on campus during commencement weekend.

Student Health issues new travel guidance

Travelers are encouraged to be fully vaccinated prior to any travel and are encouraged to first consider non-travel options for conducting necessary university business.

Tune into commencement

Missouri S&T will hold four in-person commencement ceremonies for spring 2021 graduates. Ceremonies will be at 6 p.m. Friday, May 14, and at 9 a.m., noon and 3 p.m. Saturday, May 15, all in the Gale Bullman Building. The ceremonies will be livestreamed on Missouri S&T’s Facebook page and university website.
