Starting Thursday, Jan. 23, the faculty and staff eConnection will return to its regular schedule of Monday and Thursday morning publication. The eConnection will maintain this schedule until after the end of the semester. TERMINALFOUR upgrade is Jan. 21

IT will upgrade TERMINALFOUR, the university’s web content management system, 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 21. All faculty and staff are required to be logged out during the upgrade. Most steps for editing and creating items in the new version of TERMINALFOUR will remain the same as the previous version. Main changes include the menu and the look of the “Direct Edit” interface. Documentation will be updated on the web support site, with the addition of training video instructions.

New graduate student orientation

The office of graduate studies is hosting a new graduate student orientation to provide information, answer questions and guide new graduate students as they begin their graduate studies at Missouri S&T. The event will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 5. The orientation will include presentations and a panel discussion with graduate faculty. Students may network and visit the information booths. Refreshments will be served and door prizes can be won.

Einstein Bagels temporary closure

Einstein Bagels will be closed starting Tuesday, Jan. 14, to upgrade its register system. Einstein’s will reopen as soon as the installation is complete. LMS next phase; Blackboard demo

As a result of the recommendations from the Learning Management System (LMS) review committee, EdTech has invited Blackboard to demonstrate its product on campus and answer questions from the campus community. Blackboard will host a presentation at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 22, in the Meramec-Gasconade Room of the Havener Center. All faculty, staff and students are welcome to attend the demonstration.

EdTech U open house Jan. 16

Educational technology will host an extended session of EdTech U from 1 to 4 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 16, in Room 105 Interdisciplinary Engineering Building. This is an opportunity for instructors to get some last-minute assistance in preparing their courses for spring 2014. EdTech staff will be on hand to answer questions and provide support for Blackboard, clickers/TurningPoint, Tegrity and any other technologies that EdTech supports.
