IT says stop using Internet Explorer

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security is discouraging the use any version of the Internet Explorer web browser until a serious security flaw is resolved. Missouri S&T’s information technology asks all faculty, staff and students to discontinue use of the Internet Explorer browser immediately.

Physics students achieve nuclear fusion

Three physics undergraduates achieved nuclear fusion of deuterium into helium. The students, Jaykob Maser, Sheldon Harper and Brock Ebert, working in the Physics Advanced Laboratory class under the supervision of Dr. Greg Story, produced fusion of deuterium in a plasma experiment. They confirmed that they had achieved fusion by detecting the production of neutrons in the plasma. Results of their experiment will be discussed at the Fuller Prize talks, 3:30-5 p.m. Thursday, May 1, in the lobby of the Physics Building, and at the Physics Advanced Laboratory final presentations, 1-3:30 p.m. Thursday, May 8, in the physics fully library.
