Dogs in the library

Evidence of bed bugs was found in a book in the Curtis Laws Wilson Library. As a precaution, a team from PrestoX Pest Control will be on campus with specially trained dogs to thoroughly inspect the facility. The inspection began Monday, Sept. 28, and is expected to be completed by the end of the week. The inspection process won’t impact regular library operations. Attend the Service Learning Symposium

See Shakespeare’s ‘Twelfth Night’

The English and technical communication department is organizing a trip to St. Louis to attend a performance of Shakespeare’s comedy about love’s madness, “Twelfth Night,” by the St. Louis Shakespeare Co. The performance takes place at 8 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 3, at the Ivory Theatre in downtown St. Louis. Tickets are $12 for students, faculty, staff and their friends, and all are welcome to attend. Flu shot clinics start in October

The flu season is coming, and Healthy for Life is offering flu shot clinics on campus. Missouri S&T faculty, staff, dependents (age 12 and older, accompanied by an adult), and retirees who are enrolled in a University of Missouri System medical plan will have their flu shot covered by their insurance. For all other faculty and staff, flu shots are $20 cash or check. Flu shot clinics will be open in October and November on your campus. Check http://umurl.us/fluvax for a complete schedule. Help name the second solar village

Missouri S&T is building a second solar village on 10th Street between Allgood Bailey Stadium and Innovation Park and it needs a name. The office of sustainable energy and environmental engagement (OSE3) invites faculty, staff, students and members of the community to email suggestions for the name by email to Tony Arnold at arnoldab@mst.edu. The deadline to submit is midnight Saturday, Sept. 26.
