Read More »Dr. Daniel Oerther, professor of environmental engineering, has been selected as a Fulbright Specialist Roster Candidate from 2016-2021. The Fulbright Specialist Program is a recent innovation that promotes links between U.S. scholars and professionals and their counterparts at host institutions overseas through short-term exchanges of two to six weeks in duration with up to three exchanges to different countries occurring in a five year window.

Read More »For the fourth year in a row, student financial assistance has earned the Missouri Department of Higher Education’s $25,000 Default Prevention Grant. The proposal was drafted and submitted by Sara Lewis, manager of student financial assistance, which builds on work done for previous grants. These funds cover the Miner Money Management Financial Literacy programs as well as other default prevention measures that Lewis manages. These programs have kept S&T’s Cohort Default Rate at 3.2 percent, allowing students to become successful, responsible alumni.
Read More »Dr. Bruce McMillin, associate dean of the College of Engineering and Computing and a professor of computer science, recently spoke at the Missouri Governor’s Cybersecurity Summit. McMillin presented “The Role of Education in Cybersecurity” with two other Missouri school representatives. The session aimed to provide an overview of the role education is playing in cybersecurity and shared resources to help bolster skills within various organizations.

Wagner, director of the Fuels, Engines and Emissions Research Center at Oak Ridge National Laboratory. The seminar will be held at 3:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 1, in Room 140 Toomey Hall. His lecture is titled “Directions in High Efficiency Research and Future Fuel Opportunities.” This seminar is open to all students, faculty and staff who are interested.
