The University Wind Symphony and S&T Video Game Music Ensemble will perform an outdoor concert at 12 p.m. Friday, April 26 on the lawn in front of the Havener Center. The concert is free and audience members are welcome to bring lunch and a blanket or lawn chair to sit on.
The Wind Symphony will be performing selections from the soundtrack of “Les Misérables” arranged by Jay Bocook, “Lassus Trombone” by Henry Fillmore, and Pytor Ilyich Tchaikovsky’s “1812 Overture” arranged by Mayhew Lake. Faculty from S&T’s explosives engineering program will provide pyrotechnics for this performance of the “1812 Overture.”

Our organization has been facilitating difficult conversations in safe spaces on campus since 2001.
On April 30th at 6pm in St. Pat’s C we are having “A Conversation on Learning”. This session will be an open dialogue between students, faculty, staff and administrators about student experiences in the classroom and the importance of student/professor collaboration in the learning process. Area musicians are invited to join the Rolla Town Band this summer. The band is open to brass, woodwind, and percussion players age 14 and older. There are no auditions to join and players of all abilities are welcome, including those who have not played in recent years. The band will perform five concerts throughout June and July. Two local musicians will join the S&T Chamber and Symphony Orchestras for their annual spring concert on Sunday. The concert will begin at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 14, in Leach Theatre of Castleman Hall. The S&T jazz ensembles will perform their spring concert at 7 p.m. Friday, April 12, in Leach Theater of Castleman Hall. The ensembles will be directed by Dave Cress, lecturer in the arts, languages, and philosophy department. The S&T Jazz Combo will begin the concert at 6:30 p.m., followed by the big bands at 7 p.m. The ensembles will perform music by Chick Corea, Ella Fitzgerald, Count Basie and Mike Tomaro.
