Cycle with caution around campus
Student council has heard concerns about cyclists riding dangerously and putting pedestrians in danger. Please share the sidewalks and use common courtesy when commuting to and from class. Walkers should stay to the right and please do not take up the full extent of the path. Cyclists should slow down and be more aware of others on the sidewalks. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention confirmed the first case of Ebola in the United States on Sept. 30 in Dallas, Texas. Student health would like to remind faculty, staff and students that a travel advisory remains in place for all nonessential travel to West Africa. If you have plans to travel to this region, please review the Ebola Fact Sheet found on the student health website. Check for additional updates at cdc.gov/vhf/ebola.

Missouri S&T’s surplus property will have a public sale 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 3, at the surplus warehouse, located at 301 N. Bishop Ave. This is a “garage sale” type sale and all items will be priced.

The 2014 American Society for Engineering Education (ASEE) Midwest Conference was held Sept. 24-26 in Fort Smith, Arkansas. The Missouri S&T attendees were Drs. Rohit Dua, Steve Watkins, Christi Patton Luks, Amardeep Kaur, Stuart Baur, Semih Yildirim, Douglas Carroll, Matt Pierson and Bob Egbert. Missouri S&T was recognized with the Faculty-Mile Award for attendance at the conference.

Don’t have computer access for the upcoming annual benefits enrollment or just need someone to give you a little extra help? Human resource services, affirmative action and diversity and inclusion has arranged to have a computer lab available for employees during annual benefits enrollment 7 a.m.-noon Monday, Oct. 20, and Monday, Oct. 27, in Room 105 Centennial Hall. No appointment is necessary and computers will be on a first-come, first-served basis.

The mailroom would like to remind departments that move to a new location that they keep their four-digit extension on the 65409-XXXX ZIP Code model. New departments must contact the mailroom to be assigned a new ZIP Code. Departments keep their numbers no matter where they move. For more information, contact Mary Hodge at 341-4448.
