Spend 45 minutes with Craig Fischer, a Fidelity investment expert, to learn how to create your financial roadmap. The one-on-one consultations are held in the Mark Twain Room of the Havener Center. Forum on travel restrictions planned for Feb. 7

Missouri S&T students, faculty and staff are encouraged to attend an informational event titled “Executive Order Update and International Student Impact” at 5-6 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 7, in Room 125 Butler Carlton Civil Engineering Hall. The event will feature a discussion of the most current updates to President Donald Trump’s executive order banning international travelers from seven countries from entering the United States.

Funeral arrangements announced for Randy Russell

Randy Russell, husband of Judy Russell, administrative assistant for mining and nuclear engineering, died Jan. 29. Visitation will be held 5-7 p.m. today (Thursday, Feb. 2), at Teague and Sons Funeral Home, located at 242 Main St. in Newburg, Missouri. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 3, at Teague and Sons Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Jackson Cemetery in Newburg.

Discussion to focus on misconceptions of Islam

Discuss misconceptions of Islam and the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) with the Cultural Programming Board and Dr. Sawah Rihab 6-7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 9, in St. Pat’s A Ballroom of the Havener Center. Rihab is a professor of physics at St. Louis Community College. She holds a master of arts degree in history and specializes in Islamic science history. Group counseling not only works, but it is often an effective way to bring about change. You may know a student who could benefit from group counseling — perhaps someone struggling with test anxiety, or social anxiety, or who struggles with depression or feeling overwhelmed by demands. Most problems are rooted in social relationships, and group counseling gets to the heart of our experience as humans. Missouri S&T’s confidential groups offer challenge and support.
