Read More »Ian Ferguson accepts Kennesaw State position
Dr. Ian Ferguson has been named dean of the Southern Polytechnic College of Engineering and Engineering Technology at Kennesaw State University in Georgia, effective Aug. 15. Ferguson is currently a professor of electrical and computer engineering at S&T. He joined the university in August 2014 as the founding vice provost and dean of the College of Engineering and Computing.

Nominate someone for the Presidential Engagement Fellows program
The University of Missouri System is accepting nominations of faculty members for the 2019-20 class of Presidential Engagement Fellows. Through the program, faculty members from S&T, MU, UMKC and UMSL share their research discoveries with Missouri citizens in every county. Nominations are due Friday, March 29.

Is there an outstanding Missouri S&T staff member you would like to recognize? How about a faculty member? Or a new staff member who deserves recognition? Staff Council is now accepting nominations for Staff Excellence Awards and two new accolades: Outstanding Newcomer Award and Outstanding Faculty Award. Nominations are due Friday, April 19.

Counseling services continues Red Folder Initiative
Counseling services, in partnership with UCARE, is continuing its Red Folder initiative for Missouri S&T staff and faculty. Red Folders serve as a quick reference guide to help staff and faculty identify common signs of distress, what to do when they encounter a student who may be in distress and information on where to direct students for appropriate resources.

Sign your child up for swimming lessons
Spots are still available for S&T swim lessons in the 4:30 p.m. and 5 p.m. time slots. Lessons run Monday through Thursday April 1-11, and are taught by members of the Missouri S&T swimming team. April is Philanthropy Month at S&T. This year, all proceeds from fundraising will support Finish Line Scholarships. Stop by the booth 9:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Wednesdays in April, located outside the Curtis Laws Wilson Library, for games, prizes and an opportunity to show your support of Finish Line Scholarships.
