Volunteers needed for Rolla holiday parade

Volunteers are needed to represent Missouri S&T and our 150th anniversary in the 51st annual Rolla Christmas parade, which starts at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 4, in downtown Rolla. Volunteers will hand out items as they walk the parade route. To sign up, please contact Mindy Limback, director of creative services, marketing and communications, by 4 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 2.

Remember three of Missouri’s famous generals

Dr. John McManus, Curators’ Distinguished Professor of history at S&T, will recount three of Missouri’s most famous generals at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 8, in St. Pat’s Ballroom C of the Havener Center or via Zoom. The talk is titled “Honoring our past, envisioning the future,” and McManus’ will highlight Black Jack Pershing, Omar Bradley and Maxwell Taylor. Light refreshments will be served. The talk is part of the Missouri 2021 Bicentennial Alliance lecture series.

Reminder: winter weather policy

Whenever possible, Missouri S&T will stay open for business during winter weather. Under severe weather conditions, university officials may open campus late, close campus early, or close campus for an entire day. Even if campus is not open, classes and work will continue, ensuring that students can make academic progress during the academic year. Dr. Colin Potts, provost, and Alysha O’Neil, vice chancellor for finance and operations, sent the following message to employees on Nov. 17:

S&T Store now accepting MinerBucks

The S&T Store is now accepting MinerBucks, a debit-like option for anyone carrying an S&T ID card who spends time on campus. Simply deposit funds into a prepaid account you can use at The S&T Store and for dining services. Students and family members can deposit funds with the GET app, which can also be used to check balances.
