Calendar for fiscal year closing schedule available online
The university’s fiscal year ends Friday, June 30, and the 2017 closing calendar is now available on the University of Missouri System Controller’s website. The calendar provides important Fiscal Year 2017 deadlines and processing information for accounting and procurement activities, including journal entries, payment requests, travel and expense activity, ARBI invoicing, CRR and ARR deposits, Show-Me Shop, purchase order requisitions, and One Card activity. Missouri S&T’s dining services locations will observe the following hours of operation through Saturday, July 29:
- Einstein Bros. Bagels will be open 8 a.m.-2 p.m. Monday through Friday, beginning Monday, May 15.
- Au Bon Pain, will be open 7:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, beginning Monday, May 15.
- Thomas Jefferson Dining Hall, beginning Monday, June 5, will be open for the following meals:
- Breakfast: 7-8:30 a.m. Monday through Friday
- Lunch: 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Monday through Friday
- Dinner: 5-6:30 p.m. Monday through Sunday
- Brunch: 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday and Sunday
- Miner Break Café, which includes Starbucks and Wicked Spoon, will be open 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Monday through Friday, beginning Monday, June 5.
- Avenue C will remain open 24/7.
Shower rooms at Gale Bullman to close for renovation
The showers and restroom facilities in G18 and G28 of the Gale Bullman Building will be closed Monday, May 15, through Tuesday, Aug. 1. During this time, the men’s and women’s shower rooms will be renovated. National Police Week will be observed Sunday, May 14, through Saturday, May 20. National Peace Officers Memorial Day will be observed Monday, May 15. The City of Rolla will hold a ceremony, “Thin Blue Line Dedication Event,” at 5:30 p.m. Monday, May 15, at 11th and Pine Streets to recognize local law enforcement officers. The week is designed to recognize the service that law enforcement officers provide to communities and to recognize the sacrifice of law enforcement officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty for the safety and protection of others.

Read More »In response to state budget outlook, Missouri S&T releases proposed budget plan
In response to reductions in state funding and an anticipated drop in international student enrollment, Missouri S&T is proposing a plan to reduce expenditures for fiscal year 2018, which begins July 1, in order to balance the budget. To meet this reduction, the university’s proposed plan would reduce administrative and staff positions by eliminating some vacant positions and, as necessary, through layoffs. The plan would also restructure the university’s upper administration and some non-academic programs to improve efficiency and effectiveness.

Dr. Shichao Liu, a faculty candidate at Missouri S&T, will present “A Smart Living Challenge: Occupant-building Interaction,” 3-4 p.m. Monday, May 8, in Room 316 Butler-Carlton Civil Engineering Hall. Liu is a postdoctoral scholar at the Center for the Built Environment at the University of California, Berkeley.

- 8 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday through Friday
- Noon-6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday
