Whenever possible, Missouri S&T will stay open for business during winter weather. Under severe weather conditions, university officials may open campus late, close campus early, or close campus for an entire day. Even if campus is not open, classes and work will continue, ensuring that students can make academic progress during the academic year. Missouri S&T’s information technology team has received reports of phone calls originating from AT&T cell phones to campus numbers not working. This may disrupt some phone services across the S&T campus. The IT staff have been notified that AT&T is aware of the outage and looking into the issue.

According to the CDC’s guidelines for COVID-19 vaccine booster shots, individuals age 18 and older who received a Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine should receive a booster shot at least two months after receiving their primary vaccine dose. The guidelines also state that individuals who work in education may get a booster shot six months or more after completing the two-dose series of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine.

UPDATE on Nov. 4, 2021: Federal officials announced the deadline to comply with the federal COVID-19 vaccine mandate has been moved to Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2022. Additionally, individuals who are affected by the mandate would have until Jan. 4, 2022 to receive their last vaccination shot (i.e. the second shot of a two-dose vaccine or receiving a one-dose vaccine).
