Zhi Liang, a doctoral student from Shanghai, China, won second place in the Hewlett Packard Graduate Student Best Paper Competition at the 2008 ASME International Mechanical Engineering Congress and Exposition in Boston. Other awardees were from MIT, Purdue and Universidad del Norte. Liang is studying with Dr. Hai-Lung Tsai.
