Three candidates will interview on campus for the associate director of residential life position. Each candidate will give a presentation followed by a question-and-answer session, which is open to the public. Times and dates for these presentations are as follows:

Information technology research support services will host the Better Campus Competition project showcase and awards ceremony today (Monday, April 18) in the Havener Center atrium. Judging will begin at 4:30 p.m., and the showcase will be held 5:30-6:30 p.m. Awards will be presented immediately after the showcase.

The 2016-17 cycle of the educational research mini-grant program will be geared toward faculty who teach distance courses or who would like to begin teaching a course in distance education. The program is administered by the Center for Educational Research and Teaching Innovation (CERTI).

Dr. Brian Woods, professor of nuclear science and engineering at Oregon State University and chair candidate for Missouri S&T’s mining and nuclear engineering department, will present a seminar titled “Advanced next-generation nuclear reactor thermal-fluid model and simulation validation” at noon Monday, April 25, in Room 216 McNutt Hall.

“Jeans for Genes” day at Missouri S&T will be held Wednesday, May 4. The event will raise money for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. For a $5 donation, you’ll be able to wear jeans for the day and help raise money for a cure.

Last semester, Dr. Robert Marley, provost and executive vice chancellor for academic affairs, convened a task force to propose a faculty incentive plan to replace the “soft raise” policy in place up until the end of last summer. The task force will hold a question-and-answer session for faculty to discuss the proposal at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, April 14, in Room 125 Butler-Carlton Civil Engineering Hall.

Missouri S&T’s Mars Rover Design Team will host its 4th annual rover reveal at noon Friday, April 15, in the Havener Center atrium. The team will host several speakers and exhibit tables for different aspects of the team and the rover, and reveal the culmination of the entire team’s year of hard work.
