The English and technical communication department is organizing a trip to St. Louis to attend a performance of Shakespeare’s tragedy “Macbeth” by the St. Louis Shakespeare Co. The performance is at 8 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 8, at the Ivory Theater in the Carondelet neighborhood of St. Louis. Tickets are $12 for students, faculty, staff and their friends, and all are welcome. Find out the facts about drinking behavior. Don’t be led astray by myths and what other students say. Counseling, disability support and student wellness will offer a free screening to all students 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 21, in the Havener Center atrium. Immediate feedback will be given to participants, and prizes will be given away for participating.

Union Pacific representatives will be on campus to present “SAP: Improving Productivity & Operations at Union Pacific” at 4 p.m. Thursday, Sept 22, in Room 121 Butler-Carlton Civil Engineering Hall. Custodians are the workers in the background or “behind” the scenes who strive to provide a safe, healthy, clean and wholesome educational environment for the students, faculty and staff of Missouri S&T. Do you know students who would be willing to represent S&T? The marketing and communications department is looking for new student faces and voices to help tell the Missouri S&T story to various audiences. The department will host two “casting calls” for interested students Oct. 5-6 in the Havener Center. Students of all ages and majors are needed. No acting experience is necessary. Interested students are asked to RSVP online at marketing.mst.edu/castingcall.

The annual Focus on Teaching and Technology Conference will be held Nov. 3-4 at the University of Missouri-St. Louis.
