Where will you take Joe?

The S&T Bookstore is hosting a photo voting contest titled “Where in the world will you take Joe Miner?” The contest starts Saturday, March 22. To enter you must like the bookstore’s Facebook page and submit your picture of Joe Miner with a short description of his location. You could win one of three S&T Bookstore gift cards, worth up to $100. Entries will be accepted until noon Tuesday, April 1. Share your entry with family and friends so they can vote for it.

Mathematics lectures today and tomorrow

Dr. Krishna B. Athreya, emeritus distinguished professor of mathematics at Iowa State University, will present two open lectures at S&T. The first, titled “Measure Theory Model for Studying Randomness Time,” will be held at 4:15 p.m. today, Thursday March 20, in Room G-5 Rolla Building. Refreshments will be served at 4 p.m. All Missouri S&T students, faculty and staff are invited to attend both lectures.

Transgender Awareness 101

Clear the skies with “Trans*umbrella: Transgender Awareness 101.” Step under the “Trans* umbrella” to gain a clearer understanding of what the T in LGBT stands for, what being transgender is and how the campus community can create a supportive environment for transgender people. All levels of understanding are welcome to attend this seminar at noon Wednesday, April 2, in St. Pat’s Ballroom A of the Havener Center. Attendees are encouraged to bring their lunch.

Annual recycled fashion show

Do you like fashion and recycling? Then put the two together at the annual Recycled Fashion Show. The show will start at noon Thursday, April 17, on the Havener Center lawn. Contestants will create fashionable pieces made of recycled materials and will be judged by a panel of five faculty and staff members for prizes and bragging rights. If you are interested in competing or serving as a judge, email Natalie Holste or Aaron Enz.
