Kappa Kappa Psi trivia night

Kappa Kappa Psi National Honorary Band Fraternity will host a trivia night at 7 p.m. Saturday, April 12, in St. Pat’s Ballroom C of the Havener Center. Parking Lot 36 closed Friday afternoon

Parking Area M Lot 36, which is adjacent to the Engineering Research Laboratory, will be closed at 5 p.m. Friday, April 4, due to the Block Party fireworks display. Vehicles remaining in the lot after 5 p.m. will be towed to the impound lot at the owner’s expense. In addition, no spectators will be allowed in the north plaza area (between McNutt Hall, Engineering Management Building and Computer Science Building) from 7 to 9:30 p.m. that evening. Dr. Gragg award reception

The campus community is invited to attend a reception for Dr. Larry Gragg, Curators’ Teaching Professor and chair of history and political science, from 2-4 p.m. Friday, April 25, in Room 136 Humanities and Social Sciences Building. The departments of psychological science and history and political science will host the event to honor Gragg as a recent recipient of the Thomas Jefferson Award from the University of Missouri System. Refreshments will be provided.

Army ROTC Color Guard at Cards game

Time is running out to buy a ticket and see the Missouri S&T Army ROTC be the Color Guard for the St. Louis Cardinals game on Saturday, April 26. It is “Molina Night” and the Cardinals are playing the Pittsburgh Pirates. The Army ROTC is selling tickets to the game for $25. The tickets have a face value of $40 and are in section 446 Infield Terrace. The game starts at 3:05 p.m. Support the S&T Army ROTC and contact Vickie Baker, 341-4744, or any Army ROTC Cadet for tickets.

PRO sessions in April and May

Missouri S&T will host three preview, registration and orientation (PRO) sessions in April and May. PRO is an all-day orientation program for new students who plan to start classes at S&T in the fall 2014 semester. Help welcome our new students and their guests to the S&T campus on Saturday, April 5; Saturday, April 26; and Saturday, May 3. 2014 Opening Week Project X

Union Pacific will sponsor the fall 2014 Opening Week Project X, the new students’ design project. New students who attend Opening Week, starting Sunday, Aug. 17, will have the opportunity to participate in a design project with other new students in their mentor groups. The week finishes on Friday, Aug. 22, with awards given out to the top teams. Last year’s project had outstanding results and new students had a blast participating in it with the help of Union Pacific’s partnership. The project allows new students to have a common learning experience and a positive transition to Missouri S&T.
