The campus community is invited to attend two vice provost and dean candidate events today:

A retirement reception for Dr. Walt Eversman, Curators’ Professor of aerospace engineering, will be hosted by the mechanical and aerospace engineering department 1-3 p.m. Friday, May 9, in St. Pat’s Ballroom A of the Havener Center. All faculty, staff and students are invited to stop by and wish him well in his future endeavors.

Information technology (IT) telecommunications will begin migrating the campus to a new VoIP phone system, called FreeSWITCH. The transition will be rolled out one department at a time beginning summer 2014 and is expected to finish during the fall semester. Faculty and staff will keep their existing phone equipment.

Missouri S&T will welcome back 46 alumni from the Class of 1964 for their Golden Alumni Reunion May 20-21. The Miner Alumni Association invites the campus community and public to the following events:

The Center for Infrastructure Engineering Studies will host a guest lecture by Dr. Zongjin Li, professor of civil and environmental engineering at The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, at 3 p.m. Thursday, May 15, in Room 318 Butler-Carlton Civil Engineering Hall. The topic of the lecture is “Development of Advanced Cement-Based Engineering Material Techniques.” All faculty and students are invited to attend. Light refreshments will be served.

The nominees for the 2014 Staff Excellence Awards are as follows:
