Information technology (IT) telecommunications will begin migrating the campus to a new VoIP phone system, called FreeSWITCH. The transition will be rolled out one department at a time beginning summer 2014 and is expected to finish during the fall semester. Faculty and staff will keep their existing phone equipment.

New features will include speed dial configuration, a new fax solution, lower cost long-distance services and changes to voicemail and email behavior.

Training materials and documentation will be available on the IT site and provided to faculty and staff as their phones are upgraded to the new system. For more information, visit the IT website.
