S&T Bookstore announcements
The Missouri S&T Bookstore has textbooks available for early bird reservation. Sign up online to get a first chance at used and rental books. The bookstore will pull your class schedule and box up your books for pickup. There is no obligation to buy all the books pulled, and reservations close Aug. 8.

There will be a time and labor refresher training session, including news highlights and a question and answer session, from 2 to 3 p.m. Wednesday, July 2, in the Carver-Turner Room of the Havener Center. All time and labor time-keepers and time-approvers are encouraged to attend.

Staff members will receive a Staff Council nomination form in their campus mailbox. Nominate a staff member to serve on Staff Council and return the form by Friday, July 11. Any benefit-eligible staff member with at least one year of service can be nominated. For more information, visit the Staff Council website.

Student affairs’ services and operations department has a three-bedroom house available for rent to faculty or staff of Missouri S&T. The house is located on Maxwell Drive, close to Truman Elementary School and Ber Juan Park. Rent is $785 a month plus utilities. For information, contact services and operations at 341-4209.

The University of Missouri System campuses have agreed to concurrently implement a new academic advising system as part of the comprehensive retention initiative. Missouri S&T’s new system, S&Tconnect, will replace the current Academic Alert system. Implementation of the new system will begin Aug. 15. Academic Alert will run in parallel with S&Tconnect until the end of the fall 2014 semester.

Missouri S&T’s surplus property will have a public sale 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Friday, June 27, at the surplus warehouse, located at 301 N. Bishop Ave. This is a “garage sale” type sale and all items will be priced.

The campus community is invited to a reception to thank Dr. W. Kent Wray for his years of service as provost and executive vice chancellor for academic affairs and interim chancellor. The reception will be held 2:30-4 p.m. Tuesday, July 1, in the Butler-Carlton Civil Engineering Hall atrium. Wray will become vice chancellor for global and strategic partnerships on Monday, July 14.
