Oerther to receive award for global outreach

Dr. Daniel B. Oerther, the John A. and Susan Mathes Chair of Environmental Engineering at Missouri S&T, will be recognized with the Steven K. Dental AEESP Award for Global Outreach at the annual awards ceremony of the Association of Environmental Engineering and Science Professors on June 16, 2015 at Yale University.

Boys’ basketball camp signups under way

Registration is under way for Missouri S&T’s boys’ basketball camp, which will run 9 a.m.-noon June 1 through June 4 at the Gale Bullman Building. The camp, designed for children entering grades 3-8 in the 2015-16 school year, teaches the fundamentals of the game and helps players develop ideals in sportsmanship, leadership and citizenship. Eight-foot-high goals will be available for younger campers. A variety of contests and activities will also be a part of the daily activities.

Purchase tickets for raffle items 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Monday, May 18, and Tuesday, May 19, outside the Havener Center. Tickets are $1 each or six tickets for $5. Lyric Live Theater to perform play by Dr. Greg Story

The Lyric Live Theater, located at 117 1st Street in Newburg, Missouri, will perform the comedy play “Gum Shoe Diaries” by Dr. Greg Story, associate professor of physics. Performances will be held at 7 p.m. May 22, 23, 29, and 30. Shows are free and open to the public, with donations appreciated for the performances.
