Missouri S&T will conduct a test of its emergency mass notification system at noon Wednesday, Sept. 16.

A student at Rolla Middle School is being treated for meningococcal meningitis. Rolla Public School district officials are working with the Missouri Department of Health, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and the school district’s nursing department to identify and contact students and parents who may have been in close contact with the sixth-grader and therefore at the greatest risk of exposure. American Chemical Society (ACS) representatives will visit campus to give faculty and graduate students an update on ACS and a refresher course on changes to SciFinder. The event will be held noon-1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 16, in Room 105 Interdisciplinary Engineering Building. Lunch will be served. Space is limited to 15 attendees. Reserve your spot online.

Missouri S&T’s surplus property will have a public sale 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 11, at the surplus warehouse, located at 301 N. Bishop Ave. This is a “garage sale” type sale, and all items will be priced.

Do you identify as a first-generation college student? If so, attend the S&T Trailblazers reception 5:30-6 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 10, in Room 204 McNutt Hall. Students will have two opportunities to engage with Honeywell representatives on Tuesday, Sept. 15. Career opportunities and employer relations (COER) encourages students to attend a meet-and-greet 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at the Puck or the employer seminar series at noon in Room 305 Norwood Hall.

Study Abroad will hold its annual fair 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 8, in the Havener Center atrium. Encourage your students to visit and learn about opportunities to study, work, intern or volunteer abroad during college. Study abroad also welcomes faculty and staff to stop by and learn about potential experiential learning opportunities for our students.
