Three scholars with Missouri S&T connections recently published essays in the Pittsburgh Review of Books.



Andrew Careaga, former Missouri S&T chief marketing and communications officer and chief of staff, published the essay “Secondhand Guitar,” which uses the story of a secondhand guitar to explore themes of memory, creativity and personal
Shannon Fogg, chair and professor of history and political science, published the Object Lessons essay “Suitcase,” which explores themes of travel, displacement and personal history through the lens of an everyday object and considers how belongings carry stories of identity, memory and movement.
Susan Murray, associate provost for teaching and curriculum excellence and professor of psychological sciences, published the Object Lessons essay “Name,” which examines how names serve as personal and cultural markers that shape identity, memory and human connection.
