Dr. Michael S. Moats, a professor of materials science and engineering, has been granted a joint appointment with Savannah River National Laboratory (SRNL).

“Savannah River National Laboratory has assembled an exceptional team of researchers advancing critical minerals and materials technologies that are vital to our nation’s energy security and economic competitiveness,” Moats says. “I’m proud to formalize my collaboration with SRNL through this joint appointment and look forward to working even more closely with my colleagues to advance our shared research goals and create new opportunities for Missouri S&T students and researchers.”

SRNL’s Joint Appointment Program is designed to strengthen collaboration between the national laboratory and universities by connecting faculty, researchers and students on research that supports the U.S. Department of Energy’s mission.
