Dr. Joel J. Ducoste, a professor of civil, construction and environmental engineering at North Carolina State University, will present Missouri S&T’s fall 2026 Mathes Lecture at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 23, in the Innovation Lab Forum. A reception will follow.
The lecture is part of the Kappe Lecture Series, for which Missouri S&T was selected by the American Academy of Environmental Engineers and Scientists.
Ducoste’s talk, “LagEulerian Journey Through Time and Space Providing Environmental Engineering Solutions,” will explore two perspectives used in engineering: the Lagrangian view, which tracks individual trajectories, and the Eulerian view, which focuses on fixed spatial coordinates. He will discuss how these approaches inform both technical solutions and professional practice.
The lecture is free and open to the public. Read more about the lecture.
