Dr. Claudio Mazzali, vice president for global research at Corning Inc., will present the inaugural Delbert E. Day Lecture on Glass Science and Technology at 3:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 15, in the Innovation Lab atrium.
Mazzali leads Corning’s early-stage innovation efforts across its business sectors, including display technology, consumer electronics and optical communications. His lecture will focus on how Corning transforms scientific observations into commercial products.
The lecture series honors the legacy of Dr. Delbert Day, Curators’ Distinguished Professor Emeritus of ceramic engineering, educator, researcher and entrepreneur.
