The Center for Science, Technology and Society (CSTS) and the Weiner Endowment for the Humanities will host a symposium Thursday, Nov. 5, and Friday, Nov. 6. The campus community is invited to submit presentation proposals for an interdisciplinary symposium exploring the question, “What does the ‘and’ mean in arts and sciences at a STEM-focused university?”

The symposium will examine how interdisciplinarity works in practice, the role of disciplinary boundaries on a STEM-focused campus, and how scholarship and research can be structured to address emerging national and global challenges.

Proposals may address research, teaching or service; commercial, technical or artistic projects; works in progress; and other topics. The goal is to foster discussion among researchers and scholars from a wide range of fields.

Submit a 100–250-word abstract by 11:59 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 2, through the online submission form.
