The Division for Research and Innovation has created a new research development and pre-award services section by bringing together proposal development and sponsored programs pre-award services. The new structure is intended to better align support across the proposal lifecycle, providing faculty with more integrated assistance from funding opportunity identification and proposal development through proposal review, submission and contracting.

Maria Fisher Shaub has been appointed director of research development and pre-award services. Shaub has led Missouri S&T’s proposal development unit for several years and brings more than 16 years of experience in research development and research administration at the university. In her new role, she will provide strategic leadership for the combined unit with a focus on faculty engagement, process improvement, organizational effectiveness and coordination across the research enterprise.

The transition will be implemented in phases. Faculty may continue using their existing contacts and processes for proposal development and pre-award support during the transition. Any future changes to services or procedures will be communicated as they are developed.
