Missouri S&T faculty are invited to learn about opportunities to expand research collaborations with South African institutions and explore upcoming faculty grant programs through the University of Missouri South African Education Program (UMSAEP). The event will be held 2:30-3:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 14, in the Turner Room of the Havener Center.

Featured speakers are Dr. David Holgate, dean of natural sciences at   the University of the Western Cape and Dr. Rodney Uphoff, director of the program.

The event is part of the University of Missouri System’s celebration of the 40th anniversary of UMSAEP. Since 1986, the program has supported collaborative research, faculty and student engagement, teaching initiatives, community outreach and international academic exchange with the University of the Western Cape and other South African institutions.

Many Missouri S&T faculty members have participated in UMSAEP programs and developed lasting collaborations with South African colleagues. Faculty interested in international partnerships and future grant opportunities are encouraged to attend.
