EMC Laboratory faculty, students earn IEEE honors

Missouri S&T’s Electromagnetic Compatibility Laboratory received multiple honors from the IEEE Electromagnetic Compatibility Society and the 2026 IEEE International Symposium on Electromagnetic Compatibility, Signal and Power Integrity (EMC+SIPI). Recognition included:

  • A Motohisa Kanda Award for a highly cited paper co-authored by Dr. Lijun Jiang, Kummer Endowed Professor in Electrical and Computer Engineering.
  • A certificate of appreciation presented to Dr. Daryl Beetner, Curators’ Distinguished Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering, for contributions to the IEEE EMC Society.
  • Best EMC Paper and Best Student EMC Paper awards for research co-authored by Wenchang Huang, a Ph.D. student in electrical engineering, Shengxuan Xia, a graduate researcher in electrical and computer engineering, and Dr. Chulsoon Hwang, professor of electrical and computer engineering.
  • Best Student Signal and Power Integrity (SIPI) Paper recognition for research co-authored by Sathvika Bandi, a Ph.D. student in electrical engineering, Manish Mathew, a master’s degree student in electrical engineering, Dr. Shruti Sawant, a postdoctoral fellow in electrical and computer engineering, and Dr. Chulsoon Hwang, professor of electrical and computer engineering.
