Dr. Mario Buchely, assistant professor of materials science and engineering, was appointed an AIST Foundation Steel Professor for the 2026-27 academic year by the Association for Iron & Steel Technology Foundation. The appointment provides annual funding of $5,000 for up to 10 years to support educational activities that introduce students to iron and steel manufacturing and encourage careers in the industry.
