The office for the Division of Research and Innovation will launch the Grant Connections Workshop Series this fall. The yearlong professional development series is designed to help faculty and research staff navigate the research enterprise, from proposal planning and award management to compliance, technology transfer and other research support services.

Beginning Tuesday, Sept. 15, the series will bring together experts from across the research ecosystem to provide practical guidance, answer questions and connect participants with resources that support successful research programs. Seven sessions will be offered throughout the academic year.

Topics will include:

  • Research support units and resources
  • The proposal lifecycle
  • Research compliance and security
  • Commercialization and technology transfer
  • Additional research support services available at Missouri S&T

Sessions will be offered in a hybrid format, allowing participants to attend in person or via Microsoft Teams. Faculty and research staff may attend individual sessions based on their interests or participate in the full series.

The series will begin with Navigating Research Support at S&T on Tuesday, Sept. 15. Additional workshops include Laying the Groundwork for Successful Proposals on Tuesday, Oct. 13 and Managing Awards Successfully on Tuesday, Nov. 17. Additional dates and topics will be announced throughout the year. Recordings of each session will be posted on the Research and Innovation website after the event.

The inaugural session, Navigating Research Support at S&T, will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 15, in the Carver/Turner Room of the Havener Center and online via Microsoft Teams.
