The Center for Science, Technology and Society (CSTS) and the Weiner Endowment for the Humanities invite faculty, researchers and students to submit presentation proposals for the CSTS Symposium, scheduled for Wednesday, Nov. 5, and Thursday, Nov. 6.

The symposium theme, “What Does the AND Mean in Arts and Sciences?” will explore interdisciplinary scholarship and its role at a STEM-focused university. Organizers encourage proposals that address research, teaching, service, artistic work, technical projects, commercial initiatives or works in progress.

Abstracts of 100-250 words are due by 11:59 p.m. Friday, Oct. 2.

The symposium will begin with a reception and art exhibit on Wednesday, Nov. 5, in Curtis Laws Wilson Library. Presentations will be held Thursday, Nov. 6, in the Carver-Turner Room of Havener Center. The keynote speaker will be Luke Kautz, clinical assistant professor of digital fabrication and 3D modeling in the GAME (games, arts, media and engineering) School at Arizona State University. His presentation is titled “Techno-Aesthetics and the Civic Canvas: Engineering an Infrastructure of Care.”
