The Missouri S&T Reactor (MSTR) will celebrate its 65th anniversary Saturday, Dec. 5, with a day of events recognizing its contributions to research, education and innovation. MSTR was the first nuclear reactor in Missouri to achieve criticality.

The celebration will bring together alumni, students, faculty, staff and friends of the university and will feature a keynote presentation, a special announcement, reactor tours, a student poster showcase and an anniversary banquet.

Schedule highlights:

  • 8:30-9:30 a.m. Registration and welcome
  • 9:30-10:15 a.m. Opening remarks
  • 10:15-11 a.m. Keynote address: “65 Years of MSTR”
  • 11-11:30 a.m. Special announcement
  • 1-3:30 p.m. Historical exhibit, student posters and reactor tours
  • 4 p.m. Commemorative photo
  • 6-9 p.m. Anniversary banquet
