Reed presents research on philosophical counseling at national conference

Dr. Ross Channing Reed, assistant teaching professor of philosophy, presented a paper at the American Philosophical Practitioners Association annual meeting virtually on June 27.
His presentation was titled “Existential Philosophical Counseling, Part II: Therapeutic Hermeneutics and the Medical Pathologization of Suffering.” Reed’s presentation built on his ongoing research and publications focused on philosophical counseling and the practical application of philosophy in everyday life. The work examines approaches to understanding suffering and the role philosophy can play in supporting personal well-being.
