Eun Heui Kim named chair of mathematics and statistics

Dr. Eun Heui Kim has been named the Gary W. Havener Endowed Chair of mathematics and statistics. Her appointment begins Monday, Aug. 17. Kim takes over the role from Dr. John Singler, professor of mathematics and statistics at S&T, who has served as interim chair for the past two years.
Kim joins Missouri S&T following leadership roles at South Dakota State University, California State University Long Beach, and the National Science Foundation, where she served as program director for the Applied Mathematics and Computational Mathematics programs.
Kim earned a Ph.D. in mathematics from the University of Connecticut, a master’s degree from Indiana University, and a bachelor’s degree from Chung-Ang University in South Korea.
