Limited openings are available in Miners in the Making, a free afterschool STEM program for K-12 students in Phelps County.

The program provides hands-on learning opportunities in science, technology, engineering and mathematics and is open to students from the Rolla, Newburg and Phelps County R-3 school districts. Activities include engineering design challenges, robotics programming, laboratory experiments, geology lessons and collaborative problem-solving.

Programs are held 3-6 p.m. weekdays during the school year on the Missouri S&T campus.

The program is also seeking current and retired educators for part-time positions.
