Bo receives IEEE paper Award

A paper co-authored by Dr. Rui Bo, associate professor of electrical and computer engineering, received the 2026 IEEE Power & Energy Society Prize Paper Award, one of the organization’s highest honors. The award-winning paper, “Virtual Inertia Scheduling (VIS) for Real-Time Economic Dispatch of IBR-Penetrated Power Systems,” was published in IEEE Transactions on Sustainable Energy in April 2024.
The award recognized research that developed a framework for incorporating virtual inertia into real-time power system operations, helping improve grid stability while supporting the integration of renewable energy resources.
