Missouri S&T’s Jaggi School of Business continues to expand with the transition of the economics department into the school, effective July 1.
The move brings economics programs, faculty and staff together with business, management systems, and information science and technology programs under a unified structure.
The Jaggi School of Business was established in February 2026 through a $12.5 million gift from Dennis and Janet Jaggi to support education, innovation and entrepreneurship. The addition of economics strengthens collaboration opportunities across disciplines.
“By bringing our economics and Jaggi School faculty together, we will leverage Missouri S&T’s tech-focused strengths to deliver a modern, technology-oriented business education,” says Dr. Jim Sterling, vice provost and founding dean of Kummer College.
A national search is underway for the school’s permanent director.
The campus community is invited to celebrate the school’s growth at a reception with the Jaggis at 5 p.m. Thursday, July 30, in the Engineering Management Building.
