Dr. David Borrok, vice provost and dean of Missouri S&T’s College of Engineering and Computing, will step down from his leadership role Jan. 1, 2027.
Borrok was named vice provost and dean following a national search in February 2023. Prior to serving as dean, he was chair of earth sciences and engineering and associate dean for research in the college.
“David has led the College of Engineering and Computing through a period of significant progress,” Provost John Harris said. “Under his leadership, the college has improved enrollment, faculty retention, research expenditures, fundraising, and national rankings. By every objective measure, he has been a highly successful dean. I appreciate his leadership and dedication to Missouri S&T, and I wish him continued success as he returns to the faculty.”
After 14 consecutive years in leadership roles at S&T and the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, Borrok will return to earth sciences and engineering as a professor and focus on teaching and research in critical minerals and water resources.
Harris says a national search for Borrok’s successor will begin this summer to ensure a smooth leadership transition and continuity through the college’s upcoming ABET accreditation cycle.
