Celebrate S&T’s world champion Mars Rover team tonight

The campus community is invited to welcome home the reigning world champion Mars Rover Design Team Monday, June 1.
The team will arrive between 8 and 9 p.m., with a police escort ending on Spring Avenue behind the Kummer Student Design Center. Arrival time may change due to travel.
A red-carpet welcome will follow the escort, complete with confetti and cake. Attendees are encouraged to arrive early and line up along Spring Avenue to help deliver a warm welcome.
The team’s performance capped a highly competitive field. A total of 116 teams from 18 countries applied, and 38 were invited to compete. Missouri S&T earned first place with a score of 469.57, finishing more than 50 points ahead of the second-place team.
This victory marks the university’s first back-to-back win and the program’s third championship in its 14-year history.
