Alumna, faculty member featured on national engineering podcast

Joel Burken and Shawnna Erter join an episode of Engineering Influence with host Jeff Urbanchuk.
Dr. Joel Burken, Curators’ Distinguished Professor and Mathes Chair of Environmental Engineering, and S&T alumna Shawnna Erter were featured on the American Council of Engineering Companies national podcast and publication Engineering Influence. Erter earned a bachelor’s degree in geological engineering in 2000 and a master’s degree in geotechnical engineering in 2013, both from Missouri S&T.
The episode, titled “Teaching the Teachers: Fixing the Engineering Pipeline,” focused on Missouri S&T’s efforts to support engineering workforce development and coincided with the launch of a new program supported by the Missouri Department of Transportation and members of the American Council of Engineering Companies of Missouri.
