Missouri S&T plans to offer a new bachelor’s degree in biochemistry to address a growing workforce demand in the biotechnology sector.
Biochemistry graduates are increasingly sought after in industries like pharmaceuticals, agricultural biotechnology, health care and environmental conservation.
The University of Missouri Board of Curators approved Missouri S&T’s proposal for the new degree at its meeting Thursday, April 16. The proposal will next be reviewed by the Missouri Coordinating Board for Higher Education.
