Dr. Dan M. Frangopol, the inaugural Fazlur R. Khan Endowed Chair of Structural Engineering and Architecture emeritus at Lehigh University, will speak on life-cycle, risk-based optimization approach for infrastructure under multiple hazards as part of the Center for Intelligent Infrastructure (CII) Distinguished Lecture Series 2:30-3:30 p.m. Thursday, May 14, in Room 130 Welcome Center.

A pioneer in life-cycle civil engineering and structural reliability, Frangopol highlights how integrating resilience, sustainability, performance metrics and long-term costs can improve decision-making, illustrated through applications to bridges and transportation networks.
