Learn about PechaKucha, a fast-paced presentation style designed to encourage concise communication and visual storytelling, during an online training session 3-3:45 p.m. Wednesday, April 22.

PechaKucha – Japanese for “chit-chat” – features 20 slides displayed for 20 seconds each, totaling six minutes and 40 seconds. The format was developed in 2003 by Tokyo architects as a way to reduce lengthy presentations and promote creativity and clarity.

Two Missouri S&T faculty members will present during the session:

  • Dr. Sarah Stanley, associate chair of graduate programs for business and information technology and professor of marketing, will address the advantages of using PechaKucha in the classroom from her own experience using it with students.
  • Dr. Seogjae Choi, assistant teaching professor of civil, architectural and environmental engineering, will give a PechaKucha presentation on three ways students can leverage AI in their field.
