Passing of Dr. Richard Hagni

Missouri S&T is saddened to learn of the death of Dr. Richard Hagni, Curators’ Distinguished Professor Emeritus of geology and geophysics. He passed away Tuesday, Feb. 10, at age 94.
Hagni served the university for 44 years, earning recognition as a Curators’ Distinguished Professor of geology and geophysics in 1993. During his tenure, he held leadership roles, including serving as chair of geology and geophysics from 1985 to 2000 and Gulf Oil Foundation Professor from 1984 to 1993. He retired in 2000.
A visitation will be held 10-11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 16, at Grace Church, located at 12640 U.S. Highway 63 South in Rolla. A funeral service will follow. A burial service will be held 10-11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 17, at the Rolla City Cemetery.
