Jay Hoskins will present “What’s Next for Water? Why Resiliency Is the New Water Utility Driver” at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 18, in Room 125 Butler‑Carlton Civil Engineering Hall. The event is hosted by the S&T chapters of the Water Environment Federation and the American Society of Civil Engineers.

Water utilities nationwide are facing unprecedented challenges, with resiliency emerging as one of the most urgent. Hoskins will discuss how the Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District (MSD) is planning for resilient infrastructure and what future careers in the water utility sector may involve.

Hoskins is a 1999 S&T graduate and the assistant director of engineering for MSD. He is a regional, state and national expert in wastewater and stormwater policy. He serves as vice chair of the Water Environment Federation Government Affairs Community, vice president of the Association of Missouri Cleanwater Agencies and is a past chair of the Missouri Water Environment Association Government Affairs Committee.
