As part of Engineering Week, the Architectural Engineering Institute and the American Society of Civil Engineers will host a presentation titled “Make an Impact in Your Career: Your Degree Is a Tool, Not a Box,” at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 25, in Room 124 Butler-Carlton Civil Engineering Hall.
Cornelius Weaver, a 2007 S&T architectural engineering graduate and founder and chief capital officer of Lola Capital Group, will discuss how architectural engineering informed a career that progressed from construction management to higher education facilities leadership and later to real estate fund management focused on revitalizing vacant urban properties. He will also provide perspective on the range of professional directions available to architectural engineering graduates.
Weaver has managed more than $1 billion in capital development projects and led major initiatives at institutions like Saint Louis University, Howard University, Georgetown University and Johns Hopkins University. He now oversees a multi-million-dollar investment fund dedicated to neighborhood revitalization and community-focused real estate development.
